Description

THIS PACK INCLUDES:

Ice Gel Pack

Please take note that the total length of our wrap is at 23″ and can extend up to at most, 30″. With this, our wrap is ONLY especially designed for small body parts or limbs (example: arms, ankle, legs, feet, neck etc.). If you’re looking for something that can go around your waist or back, please check our bigger-sized gel ice pack here.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • You can apply the gel ice pack directly on your skin, BUT please exercise extreme caution and care since excessive heat or cold can lead to burns. This is why we have bundled the gel ice pack with a compression wrap because we advice putting it in the wrap’s pouch, with the pouch acting as a barrier between the pack and your skin.
  • If the temperature is still too hot or cold for you, please use additional towels to cover the pack.
  • Limit application of the gel ice pack to 15-20 minutes at a time (this is as advised by doctors and sports professionals since overusing does not help you heal any faster and may actually damage or burn skin tissue).
  • If reapplication is needed, apply again every 1 to 1.5 hours. But be reminded that above all, when it comes to extended use, please do consult your physician or pharmacist. Please also do a consultation if ever you’re uncertain on whether you should use this pack for your type of injury or pain.
  • Dispose ice gel ice pack if damaged or worn.
  • The gel ice pack is FDA-approved and designed for many many times of uses. There are no issues with the contents being refrozen or reheated constantly.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

HOT APPLICATION

Hot water method:

  1. Put water into a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Remove water from heat.
  3. Immerse the gel ice pack in the hot water for approximately 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove the gel ice pack from the water, wipe it off, check the temperature, and insert it into the wrap’s pouch for use.

Microwave method:
Since microwaves vary in power, you need to find the correct heat time carefully.

  1. Flatten the pack in the microwave and ensure that the gel is evenly distributed.
  2. Expose it for 30 sec. Please stop heating if it starts to expand like a balloon. If more heat is needed, expose it further for 10 seconds only at a time until desired temperature is reached. (Record the total time used for future reference).
  3. Put the gel ice pack into the wrap’s pouch.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Though we have mentioned a standard heating time for the gel ice pack, it helps to note that microwave powers vary from machine to machine. Therefore, during the FIRST time that you use it in a microwave, please keep an eye on the gel ice pack. If it starts to balloon or expand, stop the microwave instantly since that would mean that there’s too much heat. After that, please take note of the time that it used up. This will then be the standard time that you will use for heating your gel ice pack in your microwave going forward. (Note: Bursting can happen to gel ice packs if it reaches its boiling point / ultimate expansion point so caution really needs to be practiced during first-time use in a microwave).

COLD APPLICATION

  1. Store gel ice pack in the freezer and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
(TIP: You can also just leave the gel ice pack in the freezer so it’s always ready to use)
  2. Put the gel ice pack into the wrap’s pouch to insulate the cold. In cases of severe injury, wet the pouch prior to application for greater cold penetration.

A very helpful and versatile gel pack

By J. Chambers | TOP 10 AMAZON REVIEWER | HALL OF FAME REVIEWER

Almost as soon as the gel pack arrived, my wife and I put it to good use. Earlier this week, my wife had outpatient surgery to remove several granulomas and chalazions in one of her eyelids. (You don't want to know the details - it's kind of gruesome.) It left her eye very irritated, and only this morning was she able to put her contacts in for a while. The ophthalmologist prescribed some pain meds and eye drops, but her eye still felt scratchy and irritated, so the doctor advised her to apply warm compresses several times a day. A warm damp washcloth worked, but it didn't stay warm very long, so we decided to try the gel pack. By trial and error, we found that about 80-90 seconds in our 700-watt microwave heated the gel pack to a comfortably warm temperature. Folding it in half and holding it to her eye gave enough relief in a few minutes to last for an hour or two, when she repeated the process.

Also this week, a bicuspid tooth that I've had problems with became abscessed again, causing a lot of pain. The periodontist prescribed some antibiotics, and the swelling is reducing, but I was in a good bit of pain for a couple of days, so I also tried the gel pack, heating it in the microwave and holding it against my cheek. It felt good and it gave some noticeable temporary pain relief.

Neither of the ways we used the gel pack for are typical uses, but it shows how versatile it is. We have a couple of bigger gel packs that we keep in the freezer, but they're most suited for back pain, and they're big enough to fit around the waist. The Adalid Gear gel pack's pouch would stretch enough to fit around a child's or small adult's waist, but it won't fit most adults. Its strength is really for other uses - non-typical uses as my wife and I did, headaches, and for joints like ankles, elbows, and knees, where a bigger gel pack doesn't always fit very well. The gel pack is thick enough (about half an inch) that it will maintain a set temperature long enough to do some good before it needs to be re-heated or re-chilled. We left the gel pack in the pouch all the time, although it's easy enough to remove the pouch if you need to clean the gel pack.

The ice pack was provided to me by the seller for evaluation and review. I did not agree to post a review, but I stated that if I did review the product, it would be an honest, unbiased review.

So many uses and great for elderly

By Amazon Deity (Zulma) | TOP AMAZON REVIEWER | HALL OF FAME REVIEWER | VINE VOICE

The Adalid Pain Relief Ice Pack Wrap for Hot and Cold Therapy has so many limitless uses. Since it has a non toxic leak proof plastic gel pack, it can be reused over and over again. From sprained wrists to sore knees and menstrual cramps, it can help relieve the pain.

Comes with a pouch that has a strong Velcro strap that will hold the gel pack securely in place. The pouch is soft and comfortable and did not irritate my skin. The Velcro strap stretches up to an additional 7 inches.

You can use it with the strap, or just place it over the sore area like your tummy or back by laying the soft blue material on the skin.

For cold method, you can freeze the gel pack in the freezer or place in the refrigerator for 2 hours. You can always store the gel pack in the freezer and it will not damage it.

For hot use, boil a pan of water and allow gel pack to sit in the water for 10 minutes. However, you can also use the microwave method which is faster by "cooking" for 1 minute on high.

My 92 year-old grandmother lives with us and she suffers from knee pains. She has been using the Adalid Wrap on her knees with no problems. It is easy for her to heat up in the microwave and she can easily strap it on her knee without any troubles.

Made of quality materials and and comes with a no hassle one-year warranty.

Excellent idea

By Mike Tarrani | TOP 50 AMAZON REVIEWER | HALL OF FAME REVIEWER

At first, I was not expecting such a nicely put together solution to my aches and pains. To be sure I own gel packs that can be heated or frozen, so that aspect was not new to me.

What I love about this one in particular is the wrap. That makes all of the difference to me because I can affix it to just about any part of my body (within reason) and it will hold over the sore or pain locations. There was a time when I could have used the wrap to place the gel pack in the small of my back, but those days are long over because my waist line seems to increase along with my age. The elastic band on the wrap will stretch to 30 inches, so if your waist is in the 27-28 inch range you can place this there or on hips.

For me the ability to securely localize the gel pack to aches and pains are reason enough to award this five stars. The gel pack itself is also made of a thicker material than some that I own, so it's not going to burst of break easily when it's used as a hot compress.

At 65 I get a lot of aches and pains, so this is going to naturally be a favorite product for me. If for no other reason than it beats just a gel pack alone. I would love to see just the wrap sleeve sold separately because that is what makes this such a perfect solution for me.

Q: What parts of my body can I use the wrap on?

Please take note that the total length of our wrap is at 23" and can extend up to at most, 30". With this, our wrap is ONLY especially designed for small body parts or limbs (example: arms, legs, feet, neck etc.). If you're looking for something that can go around your waist or back, please check our bigger-sized gel ice pack here.

Q: Can I apply the gel pack directly to my skin?

You can, BUT please exercise extreme caution and care since excessive heat or cold can lead to burns. This is why we have bundled the gel pack with a compression wrap because we advice putting it in the wrap's pouch, with the pouch acting as a barrier between the pack and your skin. Please use the mesh side of the wrap for deeper heat/cold penetration (it is designed this way for better hot/cold insulation or circulation to the body) or use the blue fleece side if you want a less intense application. If ever the temperature is still too hot or cold for you, you can always put additional towels inside the pouch.

Q: How many times can you freeze or heat the gel pack before you need to replace them?

The gel pack is designed for many many times of uses. There are no issues with the contents being refrozen or reheated constantly - the plastic that surrounds it might wore out eventually; but rest assured, it is constructed to last indefinitely if handled carefully.

Q: On the package there is a stated expiry date, does this mean that the gel pack is unusable after that?

Don't worry, you can definitely still use the gel pack after it has reached that expiry date. The date is simply stated there as a basis to guarantee how the gel pack can still function at a 100% state; because after the said date, it is possible that the heating or cooling effectiveness might not be as optimal as before. (However, please dispose the gel pack if you have accidentally damaged it or if it is already worn out.)

Q: How long will the gel pack stay hot or cold?

Take note that doctors and sports professionals recommend using cold or hot therapy for 15-20 minutes at a time. Overusing it does not help you heal any faster and may actually damage or burn skin tissue. Nevertheless, the great thing about our gel pack is that it will stay warm or cold for that long (15-20 minutes) and even longer. If you really need to use it again or more, we advice that you stop using the gel pack for 1 to 1.5 hours before reapplying; but above all, please consult your physician or pharmacist regarding extended use.
